Comedy guru Jeffrey L. Gurian, holds a unique place in the comedy world. There’s literally no one else who does what he does. According to Bob Saget and Paul Provenza he knows everyone in comedy, but more importantly THEY know him. Nick Kroll says that no one has more access in comedy than Jeffrey. He’s the author of four books, the latest “Laughing Legends” features a foreword by Chris Rock, and interviews with Jerry Seinfeld, Billy Crystal, Ray Romano, Colin Quinn, Jim Gaffigan, Lisa Lampanelli and about 30 more big stars that came out of The Comic Strip, a legendary club in NYC.
He’s written for legends like Rodney Dangerfield, Joan Rivers, Phil Hartman, Andrew “Dice” Clay, George Wallace and even comics from the golden age of comedy like Milton Berle and Jerry Lewis. Milton Berle was actually his sponsor in the Friars Club.
On the modern comedy scene he was the first to be pranked with “Too Much Tuna” by Nick Kroll and John Mulaney on Kroll Show and in their famous show “Oh, Hello” that spent four months on Broadway, and he’s a regular on Sirius XM’s Bennington Show. He also writes a weekly column for the top comedy website The Interrobang, called “ Jumping Around with Jeffrey Gurian”, in which he covers the New York Comedy scene.
His Comedy Matters TV You Tube channel, with over 1.4 million views features interviews with A-list talent like Jimmy Fallon, Chelsea Handler, Jon Stewart, John Oliver, Seth Meyers, Trevor Noah, Amy Poehler, Amy Schumer and even women not named Amy. He’s performed in all the major clubs in NYC and L.A. and to add to his uniqueness he was also one of the top cosmetic dentists as well as a Prof. in Oral Medicine and Oro-Facial Pain at New York University’s College of Dentistry for 12 years.
Jeffrey is proud to be hosting Comedy Matters TV on the Be Terrific network.
